Darina Allen is Ireland’s most famous foodie. Dubbed Ireland’s own Julia Child, this culinary legend defined modern Irish cooking and improved it at her world-famous Ballymaloe Cookery School in Shangarry in County Cork. She is a food writer, newspaper columnist, cookbook author, TV presenter and over the past 30 years has brought the school up to the gold standard it enjoys today.
A tireless ambassador for Irish food Darina was instrumental in setting up Ireland’s Farmer’s Market Movement and the Slow Food Movement. Her award-winning cookbooks include “Traditional Irish Cooking” and “30 Years at Ballymaloe”.
