What a spectacular way to launch the year!

Lunch with John Maytham at the iconic Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, was everything we hoped for and more.

We shared a delicious lunch, impeccable service, a breathtaking setting, and a truly remarkable talk by John that left us inspired and energised.

Feedback from & the result of John Maytham’s talk has been so phenomenal, with attendees keenly asking how they can contribute & continue to sow seeds of hope as inspired by John’s sharing.

Another truly special moment of the day was hearing from our bursars, past & present, who shared so powerfully about the impact of what we do. They reminded us exactly why this work matters & what is possible through our small choices and intentional actions.

On Friday, 21 November, our hearts were truly full. Members of the 100 Club, together with our wonderful partners at Pick n Pay & Feed The Nation Foundation, visited iKhaya le Themba Project – Home of Hope for our second drop-off in support of the incredible students and teachers.

From the moment we arrived, we were reminded why this project means so much. The children welcomed us with bright smiles, infectious laughter, and an unmistakable sense of joy. They enjoyed a hearty meal, delicious snacks, and simple gifts that sparked moments of pure delight. Their teachers, who stand so faithfully beside them every day, received Pick n Pay vouchers as a small token of appreciation for their unwavering dedication.

It was an afternoon overflowing with dancing, singing, celebration, and connection. A reminder that hope isn’t just a word, it’s alive, growing, and deeply rooted at Ikhaya Le Themba.

A heartfelt thank you to Pick n Pay & Feed the Nation for walking this journey with us and for uplifting this ongoing project with such generosity and care. Together, we are helping to build brighter futures, one joyful moment at a time.

On Thursday, 30th October, we enjoyed a beautiful afternoon in the Cuvée Room at TRYN, Steenberg, and it couldn’t have been more special.

With a warm, lively atmosphere, stunning surroundings and outstanding food & service, it was the perfect setting for an inspiring get-together.

A highlight of the day was hearing Raymond Evison share the story of the Clematis Ithemba, a symbol of hope and resilience. His talk was insightful & enlightening.

Lisa Sonn, one of our committee members, in her thank-you remarks, reminded us that, just like this remarkable plant, HOPE continues to grow, adapt, and thrive in South Africa, even amid the challenges.

The Adele Searll 100 Club’s Coffee Connect, in collaboration with the PETALS group, in October 2025 was an absolute delight.

Hosted at the beautiful Flower Café, members enjoyed delicious treats with the coffees from the Flower Café.

The highlight was an inspiring and heartfelt talk by Flower Walker, a founder member of the Club, leaving us all encouraged and uplifted.

The Adele Searll 100 Club has had a very busy August fundraising, partnering with amazing organisations & creating impact. We celebrated Mandela Day during August, where we joined hands with Pick n Pay & Feed the Nation to support Ikhaya Le Themba (Home of Hope). 

Together, we delivered much-needed resources requested by them, along with a warm lunch and snacks to bring smiles to the children. 

A heartfelt thank you to Pick n Pay for partnering with us on this meaningful project. We look forward to doing even more together in the future because every act of kindness helps build hope. 

This August, we proudly joined forces with Vintage with Love to honour Women’s Month with an unforgettable afternoon of style, giving, and celebration. The event brought together remarkable women and visionary partners. Therapy Boutique, African Leisure Safaris, Genevieve MCC, Uphawu by STBB, Green Degree, Citadel Philanthropy Foundation, and the Adele Searll 100 Club, all uniting around one shared mission: empowering women, youth, and communities through education.

Guests enjoyed a curated fashion experience, soulful conversations, and the joy of giving back by donating pre-loved clothing to fuel Vintage with Love’s literacy and community upliftment initiatives.

This collaboration showcased the true power of partnerships: when fashion, philanthropy, and community come together, we create opportunities, inspire second chances, and celebrate the remarkable spirit of South African women.

On February 11th, we hosted our first event for 2025 and were thrilled to welcome a full house for our guest speaker William Booth. With deep insight and clarity, he unpacked the challenges our judicial system has faced in the past and the challenges it still faces today.

A fearless and brave advocate for justice, William Booth has survived assassination attempts, physical attacks in court, and relentless pressure – yet he remains unwavering in his pursuit of due process. From high-level cases to everyday criminal matters, he treats each one with the same commitment to the law and justice. Despite his four decades in criminal law, he remains warm, humorous, and approachable—a true champion of the South African legal fraternity.

A highlight of our evening was a short presentation from three of our bursars, eloquently introducing themselves to guests and members, we are very proud to be investing in their future.

We also welcome 2 new committee members, Ruby Pillay and Lisa Sonn who will be supporting the chairperson on various portfolios.

Networking before and after the event with a glass of wine and snacks supplied by Dish and Doolhof wines. Our raffle was generously supported and we thank members for the prizes and congratulate the winners.

We are all looking forward to another year of impact, connection, and purpose.

What a delightful final event of the year, in a beautiful setting at Constantia Glen.

Our curated Christmas market in the fountain courtyard provided a leisurely opportunity to browse and buy seasonal themed items and beauty products. The dining space looked amazing with the tables decorated by Indian Ink, gorgeous flower arrangements and a special Africology gift at each place setting as well as a Vintage with Love voucher.

A lovely lunch prepared by the Chef at Constantia Glen and accompanied by their wines was enjoyed by members and friends after the market.
Two of our bursars eloquently addressed the audience and assisted with the event and the raffle, which as usual had very special prizes. The Silent Auction featured a hamper from Indian Ink with a tablecloth, napkins, a velvet bag and a pure cotton kimono.

Chairperson Rebecca Harvie thanked all the members and our supporters over the last twelve months, invited those guests present to consider joining the Adele Searll 100 Club and announced that the first meeting in 2025 will be in February.

We wish all members, their friends and families a wonderful holiday season and look forward to connecting and continuing our business, networking and philanthropy activities in the new year.
