On February 11th, we hosted our first event for 2025 and were thrilled to welcome a full house for our guest speaker William Booth. With deep insight and clarity, he unpacked the challenges our judicial system has faced in the past and the challenges it still faces today.
A fearless and brave advocate for justice, William Booth has survived assassination attempts, physical attacks in court, and relentless pressure – yet he remains unwavering in his pursuit of due process. From high-level cases to everyday criminal matters, he treats each one with the same commitment to the law and justice. Despite his four decades in criminal law, he remains warm, humorous, and approachable—a true champion of the South African legal fraternity.
A highlight of our evening was a short presentation from three of our bursars, eloquently introducing themselves to guests and members, we are very proud to be investing in their future.
We also welcome 2 new committee members, Ruby Pillay and Lisa Sonn who will be supporting the chairperson on various portfolios.
Networking before and after the event with a glass of wine and snacks supplied by Dish and Doolhof wines. Our raffle was generously supported and we thank members for the prizes and congratulate the winners.
We are all looking forward to another year of impact, connection, and purpose.
