The Adele Searll 100 Club held a blanket drive at their recent luncheon at the Mount Nelson, to support the Salvation Army in Bonteheuwel.

Club members brought new or unwanted blankets along to the event and the club’s event coordinator, Clarisse Coetzee, took the blankets to the organization. En route to Bonteheuwel Clarisse was informed of a soup kitchen for the elderly in Langa that would also benefit greatly from a few blankets. The soup kitchen forms part of the Urban Rural Development and Capacity Building Programme in Langa where Mpumi Ngoqo is the project manager.  When Clarisse informed Mpumi that the blankets were donated by members of the Adele Searll 100 Club, Mpumi’s eyes were filled with tears as her daughter, Pamela Ngoqo, graduated in 1999 as an accountant with a bursary that she received from the Adele Searll 100 Club. Today Pamela is a Chartered Accountant who lives and works in Sandton, Johannesburg.
